Throughout the country Azersun operates four canning facilities with the combined annual capacity of 300,000 million standard jars. Our first cannery (Qafqaz Konserv Zavodu) started in 2003 in the town of Khachmaz in the north of the country. Its current annual capacity is 30,000 tones, including ready-made meals, cold meats, frankfurters as well as fruit preserves, jams, purées, compotes, pickles and tomato paste. Bilasuvar Cannery in the south, operating since 2010, is surrounded by the very Azersun-cultivated fields and orchards from which we source produce. Without time losses for additional storage and transportation, we are able to seal the freshness of newly picked vegetables and fruits in a variety of canned and processed products, i.e. canned green peas, squashes, gherkins, tomatoes as well as ketchup, pomegranate juice and pomegranate molasses. The cannery with 50,000 tones of annual capacity sources 100% of inputs from our farm complex in Bilasuvar.
A cannery in Lankaran in the south-east of Azerbaijan amply benefits from region’s sub-tropical climate, good soils and diversity of horticultural tradition. The Lankaran factory (12,000 tones per year) sources directly from local farmers and specializes in canning of grilled vegetables and production of compotes and pickles. Finally, the newest addition to our canning empire is the Qazax factory in the north-west of Azerbaijan. It produces frozen fruits and berries that are in high demand during the winter season as they preserve juiciness and vitamin content of fresh produce. The factory supplies fast food chains with pre-fab potato chips. Qazax Cannery (8,000 tones annual capacity) cannery is supplied by in-house agricultural production and also procures produce from more than 3,000 local farmers in the region.
