AZERSUN HOLDING AT THE IST BAKU INTERNATIONAL BOOK FAIR

As part of its social commitments the Azersun companies group always offers its support to science-oriented people and fosters the activities aimed at the promotion of Azerbaijani culture. It is thus put as goal by Azersun Holding to bring to realization the issue of publishing a number of literary as well as scientific-and-research books written by the company representatives.   

Apart from being a manufacturing enterprise, Azersun Holding always lends its support and approval to achievements made in science, culture, fine arts and other fields of arts, as a whole.  

The companies group has participated in the Ist   and , in fact, the first ever International Book Fair. Opened on September 1, the event had then lasted for three days. A number of state officials, plenipotentiaries and ambassadors of foreign countries to Azerbaijan, deputies of national parliament, writers, renowned cultural workers and ordinary book amateurs were invited to participate at the event.

Having the floor at the opening ceremony Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Elchin Afandiyev has spoken of the importance of the event. The next speaker was Mr. Abulfaz Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism. In his speech, the minister has stressed that the book fair meant significant contribution for the nation and was of considerable interest to people attending the event.

The books displayed at the “Unforgotten Karabakh” and “Azerbaijan in world press” counters organized by the Heydar Alieyev Foundation, Azersun Holding and Ataturk Cultural Center as well as other book displays of a few other publishing houses were regarded as commendable by many book fans visiting the fair.  

Apart from books of local publishers, literary works by foreign authors were also showcased at the fair. The book counters of many foreign countries such as USA, France, Russia, Turkey, Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and the Russia’s province of Tatarstan were installed at the fair, as well, where readers could find interesting information about national traditions and significant events in the history of above nations.  

Among counters, attracting most of attendees’ interest, was also one displaying the books published with support of Azersun Holding, where along with such editions as the “Personal Hygiene Guidelines for Schoolchildren ” and “Healthy life style” by Magsud Gasimov,  “Olive tree” by Prof. Doctor Ferman Guliyev, “Dishes of contemporary Azerbaijani cuisine”  by Prof. Ahmad Jabir Ahmadov, “World of Turks and the fictitious great Armenia”  co-authored by Vagif Arzumanli and Khoshgadam Bakhshaliyeva, “In the name of God” by Mirvari Rahimzade were also books by amateur writers and poets - employees of the holding.    

Attending the event, Mr. Elchin Afandiyev, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Abulfaz Garayev,  Minister of Culture and Tourism, national parliamentarians - Ali Ahmadov, Nizami Jafarov, Agil Abbasov, Zalimkhan Yagub as well as extraordinary and plenipotentiary  ambassadors, Mr. Hulisi Kilich of Turkey,  Mr. Arshad Ismayil Omar- of Irag and Mr. Mahammad Bagir Bahrami – of  Iran, and also writers - Chingiz Abdullayev, Sabir Rustamkhanli , Natig Rasulzade have got acquainted with the books representing various literary works published at the financial support of Azersun group of companies.

In the context of the “2009 – the year of children” decree issued by the president of the republic, the book titled “Criterion” by Shahnaz Aras, head of the company’s educational division, which talks about the particularities of the education and kids rearing techniques, and published at the financial support of Azersun Holding was also put on display at the fair. The book contains thorough description of aspects of parent-and- kids relations as well as children upbringing particularities. It is also rich of reliable information regarding above topics that parents can find useful in treating their children. Informative, in terms of contents, and distinctly designed, the book, personally signed by the author, was presented to book lovers.
