The comedy How are Beauties Kidnapped? by Bilal Appayev mostly represents family-and-money problems and daily routine by people leading a parasitic mode of life.
This comedy in two parts and eight scenes shows events in a far highland village. Rose, a widow coming to live in the village with her father, attracts neighboring mens’ attention. Trying to meet with her and to find a way to her heart, they find themselves in funny situations. Bashir’s and Ruslan’s wives get aware of their efforts and banish them from their homes. However, the men do not step aside from Rose. Once having run from the village due to his help on kidnapping Bashir’s mother for a friend, Rosa’s father Hopay with his daughter are preparing a plan . As a result, Bashir and Ruslan are denounced in front of all family members.
The theater’s talented actors have brought life into the characters of the comedy, staged by Director Kamala Mejidova. The Honored Actress of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shukufa Musayeva, Igrar Salamov, Elnara Mustafayeva, Azad Mamedov and Malahat Akhmedova acted as the lead characters.
It should be noted the theater started through 1933-1938 as a kolhoz-sovkhoz one and continued through 1943-1948 as the Uzeyir Hajibekov Shusha Theater of Musical Drama (Uzeyir Hajibekov is a prominent Azerbaijani composer). Since 1992, the theater has been functioning in Baku.
A number of the theater’s performances were repeatedly played in the Azersun Holding’s Culture Centre and cheered by the audience’s applause.
