AZERSUN HOLDING RENDERS ITS SUPPORT TO THE FIRST AZERBAIJANI NATIONAL BOOK AWARD

The ceremony of National Book Award, the Azerbaijan’s first ever undertaking in kind, was held on November 3rd at the national library named after M.F. Akhundov.  Attending the presentation were Mr. Abulfaz Garayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan,  Ms. Rabiyyet Aslanova, deputy of the national parliament, writers – Afag Masud, Natig Rasulzade, Rashid Medjid, governor of the journalists association, Mr. Elchin Shikhli, Khazar university chancellor, Mr. Hamlet Isakhanli, foreign country ambassadors to Azerbaijan as well as mass media representatives.

Delivering the introductory speech, Mr. Abulfaz Garayev has emphasized that that government’s support to the implementation of similar projects deserves commendations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Nigar Kocharly, owner of the Ali & Nino publishing house, founder of the National Book Award has mentioned that the goal of the project was to induce public interests in Azerbaijan towards national literature, augment the social importance of modern literature, and to publish more works seen as contribution to the enrichment of the national literature of Azerbaijan.  

In his speech, Mr. Kazim Babayev, head of the public relations and social services department of Azersun Holding, an official sponsor of the Award, spoke about the company’s successful development in food industry, and further stressed the degree of significance the company attaches to science and culture. He also mentioned that the holding company would always offer its support to projects, like this, that constitute high value for the people of Azerbaijan.
Later on, presents from Pasha Tea, Azersun’s tea producer, were distributed to the participants of the event.
