OLIVE PROCESSING FACTORY

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The multifaceted activities of Azersun Holding in the food sector have spurred a renewed interest in the local olive industry.

The factory operates machinery imported from Turkey and has undergone comprehensive maintenance and renovation works. The olives are first emptied in the bunker and then processed in 3 stages with pomace and oil paste extracted in the end. After that the obtained substance is drained through a sieve to produce light gold-tinged green, delicately flavoured oil.

At this stage the olive pomace is put through drying after which it can be used both as a quality animal feed, a good natural manure and environment-friendly fuel.

The olive oil produced at the factory is then filled in special tanks and then sent to Baku Oil Food Co. for packaging. The olive oil has to pass refining stage after which it can be emptied in neatly designed bottles and then transported to the local and foreign market stores.

The olive factory became widely known for its annually held harvest gathering campaigns. The olives are gathered and then sent to the special delivery point at Trade and Distribution Company. The campaign starts in October and continues through late February covering Baku, Sumgayit, Zykh, Qala, Mashtaga, Buzovna, Zugulba, Bilgeh, Mardakan and Shuvalan. The campaign participants are rewarded according to the amount of delivered olives. The locally grown sorts of Baku, Absheron, Dogrose, Crimea, Pickvales, Pearshaped Olive, Askalan, Shirin and Black olives vary substantially in their fat content.
