ZAQATALA HAZELNUT FACTORY
COMPANY OVERVIEW
Known as the biggest factory across the Zaqatala, Balakan and Qakh regions, the Zaqatala Hazelnut Factory launched its operations in the late 2006. Estimated at 2,000,000 USD, the factory has an annual capacity of processing 50, 000 tonnes of hazelnut per year with the regular staff of 200 members. From November, 2006 onwards the factory operates within Azersun Farming Co.
How we produce hazelnuts
Hazelnut usually ripens in late July through early August and is harvested in the middle of August through the middle of September. Hazelnuts are then shed from husk and dried by special separating machines. Later, hazelnuts are removed of dry skin and sorted for size. The rancid and damaged kernels are picked out and then the product is offered for consumption.
